What Is An Academic Agreement


Mutual exchange agreements must be developed in close cooperation with the Office of Foreign Studies and are overseen by the Office of Risk and Sustainability. Students are encouraged to take one or more of the educational opportunities offered at the university before completing their degree. Some academic programs require students to complete one to meet the requirements of their major and must be approved by their academic advisor. Mutual student exchange agreements provide for the exchange of students enrolled one by one per level (bachelor`s or graduate) usually for one or two semesters. The graduating student from the UofSC pays a tuition fee to the UofSC, which is then allocated to the incoming international student. The UofSC student enrolls in the partner institution without paying any additional tuition fees. Reciprocal barter agreements must be numerically balanced to be sustainable. Since UofSC tuition fees for graduate courses are higher than for undergraduate courses, it is not possible to exchange a UofSC student for an international graduate student one-on-one. It is an agreement to support research cooperation in one or more specific areas. A research affiliation agreement is required when academic resources are tied up for research collaboration. A research affiliation agreement should define intellectual property rights for all work products resulting from the collaboration, as described in ACFO University Policy 1.33 Intellectual Property Policy. It is the responsibility of the applicant for the academic agreement to send a fully executed copy of the agreement to the partner institution. To renew or terminate an agreement, send a completed Academic Agreement Approval Form with an application for renewal or termination of an agreement to your Academic Agreement Representative. They will facilitate this process through the Provost Marshal`s Office. 1. Changes to the UTEP agreement must be marked with a follow-up of the changes in a Word document and returned to the representative of the UTEP academic agreements.3. The college representative must return the revised or approved agreement to the Dean`s office for review and final approval.

This step can be repeated several times until the negotiations are concluded. The draft agreement should remain unsigned and in Word document format at this stage of the process. Amendments to the agreement During the negotiation phase of the process, a partner institution may request amendments to the agreement. To help reviewers easily identify changes and comments, make sure your draft contract is in Word document format with change tracking. Faculty members involved in research projects with colleagues at the international level seek opportunities for their graduate students to visit the foreign institution to work on projects, or to try to recruit their colleagues` graduate students to work on projects in their own laboratories and facilities. .
